A multi-faceted project created by Winona Sangster to educate and bring awareness to endometriosis and women’s health from a lived perspective.
Overview of Initiative
The initiative was started to advocate for women’s health and conditions such as endometriosis through a multi-platform awareness project developed from my lived experience with endometriosis.
The main goal is to break the silence around women’s health and spark conversation around women’s health in rural, small-town communities to make people feel heard and seen.
Going through school, there was no education of endometriosis or women's health, thus it is imperative that we educate how conditions such as endometriosis impact daily life and the importance of more research, community support and legislative changes.
I will be planning to collaborate with other local, provincial and national women's health and endometriosis organizations to create conversations and safe spaces to have these conversations.
I want to be able to leave communities with resources, language and courage to talk about endometriosis and women’s health openly.
The initiative will continue to grow and new materials are created as the trek continues for those of us living with this invisible disease.
