Endo Warriors' Trek Initiative

for Endo Warriors today, tomorrow, and into the future

A multi-faceted project created by Winona Sangster to educate and bring awareness to endometriosis and women’s health from a lived perspective.

Overview of Initiative

The initiative was started to advocate for women’s health and conditions such as endometriosis through a multi-platform awareness project developed from my lived experience with endometriosis.

The main goal is to break the silence around women’s health and spark conversation around women’s health in rural, small-town communities to make people feel heard and seen.

Going through school, there was no education of endometriosis or women's health, thus it is imperative that we educate how conditions such as endometriosis impact daily life and the importance of more research, community support and legislative changes.

I will be planning to collaborate with other local, provincial and national women's health and endometriosis organizations to create conversations and safe spaces to have these conversations.

I want to be able to leave communities with resources, language and courage to talk about endometriosis and women’s health openly.

The initiative will continue to grow and new materials are created as the trek continues for those of us living with this invisible disease.

Purpose, Mission & Goals

The Endo Warriors’ Trek Initiative is driven by a distinct purpose, mission, and set of strategic goals designed to transform how people experience and manage life with chronic pain to bring awareness to women's health and endometriosis.

Purpose
To validate and humanize the severe mental and physical toll of living with endometriosis. With recognition that medical trauma, systemic gaslighting and long diagnostic delays leave many patients feeling isolated and anxious. The platform acts as a sanctuary that reframes survival and chronic pain endurance as a powerful form of leadership, endurance and inspiration.

Mission
To provide patients with practical, accessible self-advocacy and wellness tools to navigate the healthcare system and regulate their nervous systems. The initiative works to shift the narrative around the disease from purely clinical management to a comprehensive lifestyle approach that addresses the emotional trauma of chronic illness.

Goals

  • Empower Patient Advocacy: Supply structured medical tracking tool to help patients record pelvic pain, organize symptoms and build confidence before doctor appointments.
  • Break the silence: Around women's health and create meaningful conversations that spread awareness and create tools for today and future generations.
  • Support Mental Health & Trauma Recovery: Deliver tangible therapeutic resources, including the specialized narrative workbook, and coping strategies that can help patients actively process medical trauma and living with chronic pain.
  • Foster Global Community Connection: Build an empathetic online network under the @endowarriorstrek umbrella where patients worldwide can share real-time experiences, reducing the isolation commonly caused by chronic pain and endometriosis.
  • Rural Women’s Health Advocacy: Working in the small, rural communities to bring awareness and education tools for women’s health, how it impacts daily life and where to access support.
